If you're after a sustainable, naturally warm and healthy home, then look no further than Fraemohs Homes. With timeless Scandinavian home design and built by one of New Zealand’s longest serving home building companies, you can choose from solid natural timber homes or modern homes with timber features. From transportable tiny houses to grand homes, kitsets to full builds, they have something in their range for you.

Fraemohs Homes are passionate about coinciding beautiful architecture alongside a natural product. By building with timber from the sustainably grown New Zealand plantation pine (which makes them carbon-negative), they can create homes that are both healthy and environmentally responsible, that maximise solar gain and minimise energy consumption. Of course they use fixtures and fittings that are built to last with excellent build quality too.

Come meet the new Greater Wellington Franchise Directors, Natalie and Joshua at the Home & Interiors Show, 22-24 March at the TSB Arena and find out more about these beautiful, warm and sustainable homes.

Wellington Architects CPD Day

Camilla Railton 0 21 Article rating: No rating

This year the Home & Interiors Show is delighted to be partnering with the NZIA (NZ Institute of Architects) to host the Wellington CPD Architects Day from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, on Friday 22 March 2022 at the TSB Arena .

The seminar programme will be held alongside the Home & Interiors Show which is an annual event focusing on high quality products and services for the home.

The morning is credited with 30 professional development points and it will also give Architects a complimentary access to the exhibition after the seminar.

Summary of content includes:

Metalcraft – Roof Drainage

Presenter: Frances Charles

This presentation will provide an understanding on how the NZMRM calculation tools were developed. Erequires a 2% probability that flooding will occur within a building. This differs from the rainfall intensities of E2/AS1 which are based on 10% probability. The NZMRM code of practice has been updated and a new easy roof drainage calculation tool has been developed making it easier to determine the maximum catchment area for specific gutter designs. Internal, external and downpipes are covered in this tool and it is based on 2% probability. Frances Charles will discuss these requirements and how the roof drainage tool works.

Rinnai – The Future of Hot Water

Presenter: Dr Grant Bourke

Dr Grant Bourke will present a highly informative & educational session on the future of gas in New Zealand, and the significance of the transition from fossil fuels to hydrogen for our environmental future.

Cosentino – Ultracompact Surfaces

Presenter: Diane Michele Casterton

The built environment produces a third of the world’s waste. Today, it is possible to create innovative surfaces that have a positive impact on the world around us. More sustainable and carbon neutral, with higher percentage of recycled materials and longer life cycle.

Diane will present on Green Manufacturing, the need for products wilt less crystalline silica and the benefits of sustainable surfaces.

Jacobsen – Understanding building codes for floors & walls

Presenter: Matt Jones

Jacobsen’s Matt Jones will present a thorough overview of the relevant building codes as they relate to flooring and walls, including information regarding fire requirements, access routes and slip resistance, internal moisture, and acoustic requirements.
